A Ph.D. in physics or a related area is required, and postdoctoral experience is preferred.  The successful candidate would build an independent, externally funded research program, and participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching.  Candidates should submit a cover letter, a CV, and a research plan including an estimate of start-up costs, and arrange for three letters of reference to be mailed to Chair, Faculty Search Committee, Dept. of Physics, Tulane University, New Orleans, LA 70118-5698.  For full considerations, applications should be received by October 15, 2007, but are reviewed as they come in.

Tulane is an AA/EO Employer. The position is subject to a final university determination on funding.  Inquires can be directed to Prof. Ulrike Diebold, diebold@tulane.edu.
